As I Peel the Parsnips

I built this entire recipe book from the client’s manuscript and recipes. The first half of the book is stories from the client with photos and reference photos to recipes featured later in the book. The second half of the book is all recipes, some within the stories and some stand alone, the last section of recipes includes scanned original notecards with recipes from the, deceased, Mother of the client.

The Mother was a huge part of this book design because she meant to so much to the client and their career as a chef. I included the scanned notecards on their own pages to highlight them within the book, the cover of the book includes yellow roses because they were the Mother’s favorite flowers, I also included two quotes from the Mother as well, one on the back of the book, and one on the back of the jacket. This brought an extra level of personal meaning and heart to this client’s book.

The book cover, jacket, and inside layout design was done entirely by me.
